How refunds work for IAAA Vantage.
IAAA Vantage is a product of IAAA — the Institute of Applied AI and Analytics™ — and refunds for it are governed by the Institute's published Refund & Cancellation policy. This page applies that policy to this specific product, including the two things it does not address on its own: what a mock exam attempt does to your refund window, and how a refund behaves when you paid with a card issued outside India.

1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to paid access to IAAA Vantage, purchased from IAAA, once a paid tier is available. Paid access is a ninety-day access period at the price published on the Institute's Applied Intelligence page, exclusive of GST. The seven-day refund window below sits inside that ninety-day period — it is not the length of the access you are buying.
Today it applies to nobody. IAAA Vantage is currently a free, invite-only beta. No payments are collected, so there is nothing to refund. Free beta access is a discretionary courtesy rather than a purchase — how it can be granted and withdrawn is set out in Terms of Use §4, not here. This page is published in advance so that the terms of a purchase are readable before there is anything to buy.
2. The refund window
You may request a full refund within seven calendar days of purchase, provided that at the time you ask:
- you have opened fewer than half the concepts, counting only what you have opened since your purchase; and
- no certificate, credential, or assessment result has been issued to you — in IAAA Vantage, that means you have not started a mock exam.
You will never have to guess where you stand. IAAA Vantage shows you, while you are signed in, how many concepts you have opened since your purchase, how many there are in total, how many take you past the halfway point, and the exact date and time your seven days run out — in your own timezone. A condition you cannot check is not a fair one to be held to, so the count is on screen rather than buried in this page.
Three things to know about how the count works, all of which favour you:
- Only what you open after paying counts. If you read anything during a free beta before buying, none of it counts against your refund.
- Answering practice questions is not penalised separately. The measure is how much of the material you have opened, not how hard you worked on it.
- The deadline is fixed when you buy and never moves afterwards. If we change this policy later, your window stays as it was when you purchased.
You do not need to give a reason. Where both conditions are met, the full amount you paid is refunded, including any Goods and Services Tax collected — the tax is not kept back. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method in Indian Rupees, normally within five to seven working days of approval.
3. When a refund isn't available
- after the seventh calendar day following purchase;
- once you have opened half or more of the concepts since your purchase;
- once a certificate, credential, or assessment result has been issued;
- where access was withdrawn for a breach of the Terms of Use; or
- for free beta access, since nothing was paid — see Terms of Use §4.
Billing errors are separate. A duplicate charge, or a payment that succeeded without access being granted, is corrected on its own merits regardless of the seven-day window. That is a mistake being fixed, not a refund being requested, and the conditions above do not apply to it.
4. The mock exam closes the window
A mock exam attempt produces an assessment result, and therefore falls under the exclusion in §2 and §3 above: once you have started a mock exam, the refund window closes for that purchase.
This is not a rule invented for IAAA Vantage. The Institute's Cancellation policy already provides that an assessment may be cancelled before it is attempted, and that once attempted the fee is non-refundable and cancellation is no longer available. The paragraph above simply says which thing in IAAA Vantage is the assessment, so that you do not have to work it out yourself. Starting a mock exam is the clearest signal that the product has been consumed.
Practice questions are not a mock exam. Answering questions inside an ordinary study session, however many, does not produce an assessment result for this purpose and does not close your refund window. Only a mock exam does. This distinction is drawn deliberately — without it, "assessment result" could be read to cover every practice answer, which would close the window on day one and would not be a fair reading.
5. If you paid from outside India
Prices for IAAA Vantage are set in Indian Rupees. INR is the currency of the contract and the currency in which a refund is calculated and issued.
You may not receive back exactly what you paid, in your own currency. If you paid with a card issued outside India, your bank converted the INR price into your currency at its rate on the day you paid. A refund is converted back at your bank's rate on the day it is processed — a different day, and a different rate. Depending on how the exchange rate has moved, the amount that lands in your account may be slightly more or slightly less than the amount that left it.
Consistent with the Institute's policy, IAAA does not reimburse losses arising from currency conversion, nor foreign-transaction or cross-border fees charged by your own bank or card issuer. IAAA never receives those amounts — they are charged by your bank, set by your bank, and kept by your bank. The full INR amount you were charged is refunded in full; what happens to it on the way back across the border is outside IAAA's control.
Any import VAT, GST, sales tax, duty, or similar charge imposed by your own country is likewise yours to account for, and is not part of the amount IAAA refunds. See Terms of Use §13 for how tax is handled at checkout.
6. How to request a refund
Email support@iaaa.academy from the email address the purchase was made with, including:
- your name;
- the email address on the purchasing account;
- the product name (IAAA Vantage, and the tier if more than one exists); and
- the date of purchase.
Your request will be acknowledged within two working days, and a decision given within five working days of that acknowledgement. If a refund is approved, it is issued to the original payment method — a refund cannot be redirected to a different card, account, or person.
7. When your access ends, and when the money arrives
These are two different moments, and it is fairer to say so plainly here than to let you discover it.
Your access to IAAA Vantage ends as soon as your refund is approved. It does not continue while the money is in transit. Approval is the point at which the purchase is undone, so the access it paid for ends there.
The money takes longer. An approved refund is returned to your original payment method and normally appears within five to seven working days. That wait is your bank's processing time, not ours — the refund is issued immediately on approval, and if you paid with a card issued outside India it may take a little longer still while it crosses back through your card network.
Your study progress is not deleted. Ending access is not the same as closing your account. If you return to IAAA Vantage later, what you had already worked through will still be there. You can of course ask us to delete it, or delete the account yourself, as described in the Privacy Notice.
8. Cancellation
By you. Cancel by emailing support@iaaa.academy from the purchasing account's address. Cancelling inside the refund window, and within its conditions, is the same as requesting a refund. Cancelling outside it stops any future renewal but does not refund a period already paid for; access runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
By the Institute. If IAAA withdraws IAAA Vantage without offering a replacement, anyone with unexpired paid access receives a full refund regardless of the seven-day window. That is the Institute's commitment and it is not narrowed here.
Note that ending access does not by itself delete your account or your study progress. You can request an export or deletion of your data at any time — see the Privacy Notice.
9. Your local consumer rights come first
Some countries give consumers buying a digital service online a statutory cancellation or withdrawal right that is longer, or less conditional, than the seven-day policy above. This is common in the European Union and the United Kingdom, among others.
Where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you a stronger right than this page does, that law applies and IAAA will honour it. Nothing here is intended to reduce a statutory right you cannot lawfully be asked to give up. Confirm with counsel before commercial launch — accepting international payments widens the set of consumer-protection regimes that reach this product, and no jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction review has been done. This clause is written to be safe rather than precise.
10. Disputes
If you disagree with a refund decision, escalate it to founder@iaaa.academy for personal review — the same escalation route the Institute's own policy uses.
Please use that route before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback filed without any prior contact may result in access being suspended while the claim is investigated with the payment gateway, and is usually slower than resolving the matter directly. Repeated purchase-and-refund or purchase-and-chargeback cycles will be treated as abuse and may result in access being withdrawn without further refund.
Governing law and jurisdiction, including the position for consumers outside India, are set out in Terms of Use §19.
Where anything on this page differs from the Institute's Refund & Cancellation policy ↗ and Cancellation policy, this page governs purchases made on vantage.iaaa.academy and the Institute's policies govern everything else — but nothing here reduces a right those policies give you. This page exists to apply them to this product, not to compete with them or to narrow them, so you never need to work out which document came first.
